Yet the tourist industry was already founded at Mount Desert. Nichols portrays the people as well as the scenery--their occupations, lives, and sorrow, but (unfortunately for him) he dislikes their fish and lobster! Reprinted from Harper's New Monthly Magazine. Illustrations are mainly sketches by the author. 24 pages.
