Most of the books and other rmedia items listed on VistaBooks Encore are like new even though they may not have a recent publishing date. Many are inventory items held on the VistaBooks publisher/distributor's shelves but never sold--such as small quantities that were left over when filling a bookstore order. If not like-new, condition is described.

Other books and media items include a range of conditons, ages, and scarcities, with some that are rare and therefore valuable. Conditon of these is described.

To help describe condition, there are semi-standard definitions used in the antiquarian book world. Our descriptions attempt to follow them, but they are subject to interpretation. For this reason, all are invited to query for information on any aspect of a book. Searches on special books often report a wide range of prices for similar books, often without the information needed to compare copies. To complicate, a book may get sold and no longer be available for price comparisons. Too, scarcity or pertinece may change. Even a dealer's method of operating or need for a sale may be pricing factors (One dealer is recalled who set asided certain books for his retirement, antcipating their prices would increase with time as they became scarcer in good conditons, while crculating copies were gettting more worn.).
